Often up to 50%. Usually you end up with something around 250-450 Megabytes for an album that is 600MB in WAV. It depends on the music of course.
http://flac.sourceforge.net/comparison.html
Reallife example: Aes Dana - Aftermath (which is rather short, thus so small)
WAV: 425 Megabytes
FLAC: 217 Megabytes

It may happen that we will reprint a "old" release, once in while but nothing is definite.

Bump.
That move would make sooo many people (who can't afford/don't want to spend >$100 for single Aes Dana album) happy as hell

Hello Chilling!
On Ultimae Digital Store, the Flac format will be proposed also (but not instead).
For ogg vorbis we still don't know, why not:)

Bah. Tried bidding on H.U.V.A. Networks "Distances" and dropped out once the bidding got up over $150.00. Really can't wait until this is reprinted. Another re-print I'd like to see is Shakatura's self-titled release. Can't seem to touch that one for under $200 used either. |

i know that the Ultimae team is planning to do a reprint of H.U.V.A Network, just don't know when.
in my Opinion it's really worth to wait.
one of the reasons i only love to buy albums apart from the reasons that i always prefer the original cd quality and just love to read the info inside and really enjoy to see the artwork is also because i want to support the artist and label and to buy a copy from someone at ebay or something for 150$ doesn't really support the artist or the label.
if there is no chance for a reprint so i guess i would try to buy from ebay or something as well, but in this case i'm almost sure that H.U.V.A Network - Distances is going to be reprinted so i think we all should wait for a while and just buy it directly from Ultimae when it will be available again.
i will be very happy ! ! if they also reprint Solar Fields - Blue Moon Station and i hope for Misha that they will reprint solar fields-leaving home as well cause it seems that he is really craving for it.
cheers ! |

I fully agree. I think whenever an out of print album starts going for $100.00+ on Ebay/Amazon/Discogs that the label should seriously consider a re-issue. I'd much rather give my money to the label than paying exorbitant prices to an individual. Especially with some of the prices I've been seeing. When I was looking for Solar Quest's "Orgship", one person was actually asking $900.00for their copy. I kid you not. The lowest price was $180 at the time. Fortunately, I found it $20.00 by sheer luck.
I know they plan to re-issue "Distances", but it may be some time before we see it. As much as I want to hold out for it, the collector in me say that if I can grab the original issue for $60 or less, I'm all over it. |

just be strong and wait my friend
you said it yourself - " I'd much rather give my money to the label than paying exorbitant prices to an individual."
i'm also really want to grab an original copy of that album myself but i'm going to wait and buy it from Ultimae.
fortunately in the electronic turf there are some good refreshing new albums like the new Kuba and the upcoming eat static...that we can fill the void with...
anyway i think that - Distances is more of a winter album.
cheers ! |

and don't forget I Awake - the Core and Hol Baumann - Human.
that is plenty to fill the void with and there is always good music in all styles out there, just need to grab it... |

True. Quite a bit of good music coming out or recently released to keep me busy. I will attempt to apply my not so developed skills of patience and self-restraint to the situation. |
