Yes, another headphones thread.
But this is a little different.
I have a sennheiser HD25 headphones, and i've used them for 9 months, but i'm getting tired of them.
I have a big head with big ears, so you can imagine how horrible these little headphones look on me and how unconfortable they feel.
So what i'm looking for are big headphones for big ears (circumaural), with all the qualities of the HD25, which are:
flat sound
good isolation
earpads can be folded
and they must not have the hd25 weaknesses:
small cable
very unconfortable to wear for long periods (supra-aural)
ugly looking
any suggestions? price is not a problem!
PS: i have in my mind the sennheiser HD280, anyone tried those? |

thanks for replying, but those ought to be the most worrible looking headphones ever. Are they much better than the 280's (the silver edition is.. beautiful)?
any other recommendations?
keep in mind i can't try any headphones... i live in a remote location in a "second-world" country. |

I too have owned a pair of HD25 and HD25-SP1 for a while now and recently got the Sony MDR-V700DJ too.
The Sony's are really good for DJ purposes, only a bit heavy.
The Sennheiser HD280 are a bit lacking in the low end but have -32db attenuation which is good for noisy environments when mixing without monitors, etc.
Keep in mind though that almost every part of the Sennheiser's are replaceble from the cables to the ear pads! Hope this helps.
