Hi guys, I have a question about Cubase. Let's say i built my whole song structure, but now for some reason i want to have another kick instead of the one i used in the 1st place. Can i actually replace it without having to arrange the new one in the same pattern? Would be great if i could tell it to replace one kick with another and then only fine-tune. What do ya all know about it?

Just sample the kick and use a sampler like Battery..and edit your midinotes..or don`t use audio at all and make your kick with a synth like bassizm or blue or something..if you got a full kick track as audio there is no chance to change it with same structure..use synth..
way more flexible..

Thanks man, but i think you missed the point i know my way around kicks etc, the reason i ask to replace is because i want to replace it, not HOW to... but thanx, i thought it would be impossible, i'll have to copy the patterns manually then, will take some time. The reason why i don't use samplers or midi is cause it is easier and handy for me to work with audio, you see what you get It is just a rare occasion that i started to dislike the kick after a while

Not tried this.. but you could try renaming the sample in the Audio folder of your project, replace it with the sound you want.

drumagog is for mac only or am i wrong?
here`s a trick.... go to your project folder. go to the audio folder. make a backup of your kick (just to be on the safe side). now you choose a the kick you want to use. rename it file exactly as the older kick and replace it in the audio folder. it should work but be sure check the edits like reverses rolls etc. cause it deosnt always do them right when you change the source.

Tried to do this awhile ago and I am pretty sure there is no way to do it. tried replacing all the files and it still wouldn't work.

worked for me.... replaced kick in sevral tracks worked like a charm. had to edit some fades and reverses but that`s about it.

It actually doesn't take that long to replace the kicks of a track. Just open a new audio track with your new kick, mute the old one and just recreate the pattern.
Shouldn't really take more than 15 minutes. |
