Hi,
do you know a way to replace a specific sample in the audio pool in cubase-
for example, let's say i did a track and now i want to replace the kick- is there any easy way to change the file/sample directly from the audio pool or not?
Thanks

you just replace the file in the projects audio directory . use the same name and the cubase won`t know the difference. but be sure to keep the old file incase something goes wrong...
(just in a different directory)
if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...

cubase can't support such function and that's why i suggested you to "hack the dir" meaning to replace the file yourself.
it can't support such option because if you'll replace a long pad sample with a short percussion sample and you use in your arrange window different offset cuts of this sound, cubase won't be able to trigger the same offset of the short and the long sound. that's why. for a kick it might be fine just to replace in the dir. |

If you replace the file in the directory, won't it deestroy the anchor(snap) points, things will go out of time, especially if you've moved anchor points. |

That's why I said, if it's a kick, most chances are that it'll be fine and max he'll have to rearrange a few passages again. |
