I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop A30 2.8 ghz with 30gb hard drive. I want to replace it with a bigger one. I know that it has to be of the right size. Other than this are there any other thing I must look before buing one? I've heared something about bios limitations. Is this only a concern with old laptops? I have seen some hard drives for laptops been sold that say that will suit most laptops if the size is right. But what concerns me is that there are no official upgrades for my laptop at the Toshiba web site. Has anyone changed his hard drive on his laptop?
Thanks. |

I just got a firewire case, which you can get for about $60, and then stick any IDE drive in there.
A bit clumpsy, but cheaper and you can stick a 350gb drive in there if you like.
Haven't seen very big drives for laptops.
Around 60gb is the most I seen, and they are expensive. |
