After overwriting my file disk with a ghost and loosing all my wav files,i tried varius recover software to recover them.
One seemed to work.
It found all the files it could.
Even if the files have the correct size it cant be opened either with editor.
"Unrecognizable or unexpectable file format"was the msg if i remember well.
Someone told me to try open it as raw audio and play with the settings but it didnt work either.
I ve found that there is a prog in Linux that mabe do the job called Kwave and i am gonna try it after installing linux.
Does anybody know something related?
Thanx

Which software you used to recovery? what is the file system ? ntfs? fat?

some softwares read the index on the disc but truncate files if you not set the disc geometry correctly or set to an preset of wrong file system. You may use raw recovery mode but tell me details.

Hope I can help you

Sounds like the file header may be damaged. Your easiest solution is probably to try to just play it in a player program (winamp, etc), & record that output into a new file.

Another options could be to inspect the header by opening the file in a text editor, but I couldn't tell you off hand what the correct header info should be....could try comparing it to a working file. Check the end of the file as well....

good luck!           Keep The Faith,
