Hello all! My name's Joe, and I live in Reno. (to those that know me: Hey, what's going on!, to those that don't, Nice to meet ya!) I've been into psytrance since I saw some old Eat Static videos on MTV's Amp, back in the dim past... For the past year and a half I've been honing my mixing skills, and attempting to get Reno into the psy world. As part of the Great Basin Trance Collective, I helped to manifest a wonderful party last June, which astounded me with its intensity and attendance, despite a few hitches... I'm hoping to be able to do it again this year, with a bit more preparation. (thanks to anyone who made it out, you're all amazing!!)
So, anyway, its 08 and the summer is soon upon us, and... well... I'd love to be able to come out and share some experiences with other regions of this strange continent. I play most styles of psytrance, everything but goa (still working on the goa collection). My favorite styles are stuff like Terminator, Ocelot, Atriohm, deep, often melodic stuff, more timeless, stuff you can play midday or midnight with equal effectiveness. I also love slower tribalish progressive, POTS, Antix, Ace Ventura, Perfect Stranger... Mmm, love that stuff... I'm much more concerned with playing set/setting appropriate styles than anything else.
I've got tons of mixes uploaded on psystream.net but for some reason, I've not been able to download any... They're all up there for streaming, though, in case you want to give them a listen. ( http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/113054/forum/67 ) I also currently have a mix, Gonzo Journalism #2, in rotation over on Triplag (thanks everyone over there!). I go by the name Mudpeople, just as I am on here (like the LA mudpeople, or New Guinean mudpeople a la La Vallee). I've got some more recent mixes that I haven't uploaded yet that I'd love to share, I've finally got some I'm really truly satisfied with, not just ones I slapped together on-the-fly. Real care and effort into these...
I have no plans other than early June as far as gigs go, and my work situation is beyond flexible, so pretty much, you name the date and I'll likely be available (so long as advanced warning is given)! I'm fine paying my own expenses if things are tight, and I don't ask for anything to play out, just the opportunity to share what I think of as great psychedelic trance, and make new experiences, meet new people, feel new vibes... All the good stuff!
So if you think we could talk further on the matter, please, feel free to drop me a PM here! I can already tell that 2008 is going to be a great year for psytrance... Thanks for reading this far and maybe we can make something happen together?

if you make your way down to Colorado, we could probably hook you up with a slot at one of our outdoor shindigs. they're mostly free though, so unfortunately we can't really pay for travel expenses.  but on the good side, people from out of state always tell me that our parties are some of the best they've been to.

Ive heard good things about CO! Beautiful state, too, I'd love to visit again... Its not TOO incredibly far from Reno... (Ive had worse...  ) I think I just may have to take a road trip sometime soon...
I assume you're not having too many outdoors anytime soon, hehe...
And, BTW, I DO have some unrlsd killargh. I made it myself!  . |
