I don't really like it. The remix can be masterpiece but when I buy an album, I just think that instead of this remix it could have been another gr8 track and not something that I heard b4 in another version.
There are albums with 2-3 remixes and thats to bad. imo remixes should be in compilations.

what do u think?

I think whining is a profession, and you seem to be the expert. I mean, come on now, what's next? I hate it when artists use open hi-hats, they should be closed? Who are you to decide what artists want to bring to the people?           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. Damn open hats. Something should be done about this. Really. Annoying. And what about those hand claps?
WTF? Are we in the 70's???           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

You have all the right to ask the question

You just also have to respect that the artists can do whatever they want no matter if you like it or not.

Personally I am all for whatever the artist want to do with the CD album. It's the artists's music and choice. If I dont like it I dont buy it

See my thread here. It's kind of linked with your question but not a pointed finger at you at all.

IMHO it is a waste of "space" in an album to have a remixed version of a track that you've heard before a thousand times.           See you on the Trancefloor!!

IMO good remixes are always welcome. I don't care if it's an artist album or a compilation, as long as it is good music I like it.

I listen to electronic music for 14 years now, in most of cases remix is bad compared to original one. The reasons behind putting a remix on CD are vary from remix famous track to sell more, label's wishes, artist's wishes or just to fill the empty space.
Not many can do a good remix, especially within psytrance scene where remixes are just blew.

Now for topic,
Artists and labels can do whatever they want with their own product. Remix is a musical part, sometimes pretty hard! It doesn't matter what were the reasoning behing remix release but it surely music so as other one. Some times good remix make an album somewhat spetial while a filler track instead could damage the album's quality.

Advice to you, when you buy an album please see if there are remixes at back side so you won't buy a track you heard in other version. It is simple, right?
