FLAC is lossless. Free Lossless Audio Codec. There is no loss. None at all.
You might know ZIP or RAR or other general file compression algorithms, those are lossless too.

As I tried to point out (apparently with no result) I know everything there is about various file formats.
So I do not need to be told about file formats. ok? 
My point is still that it's kinda odd to see an artist offer these formats for remixing. All you need is wav and aif which is also standard formats when you work in a studio enviroment.
The alternative formats are put to use when you have a track and want to share it online. I have never seen anyone use these formats for remix audio sample files.
Again I am cool with it but I fidn it weird you did not just instantly offer wav's and aif's too?
Also yes there are no matter what you say a loss in quality when you convert audio files. Especially when you use them in 24bit studios as i do. Why would I settle for less than wav or aif in a remix production?

You are just underlining your complete ignorance. You do need to be told about file formats.
FLAC supports up to 32 bits per sample. There is no issue with your 24 bit stuff.

I need wav because i can not import FLAC into Cubase v.5 and I dont feel like using mp3's or have to start converting files. And as I said usually you just work with wav or aif as standard. I guess you just don't want to see this point. Guess who's the ignorant here Keep on debating with yourself. I am getting my wav's;) www.beatagency.dk |

please stop with the arguments issues
remix what ever you want or not.
flac is fine and no loss of quality.
there is a good link up there ,that is really good to check.
i also prefer wav and not start converte and stuff like that, but this is not the point.
the point is that this is what we got as an option of downloading at this site
now - lets keep the good vibes, and think on good music with smile. this is all the idea of our music i think ,no?
