Hi everyone! We finally feel like we are ready to start releasing tracks and have decided to try to get some of our tracks released on a few compilations. The only problem is that we don't really have a clue about how to go about doing this. We realize we should most likely mail out demo cds to labels that we think would like our music, but beyond that, does anyone have any advice or knowledge on the subject?
We all hear stories about how artists lose their rights to their own work and stuff like that, but im sure this really only happens with BIG mainstream record labels. Does anyone know how this works in the psy scene? do most popular psy artists still "own" their music?
We are really at square one with this so any advice would me much appreciated
