I was just looking at the beutiful cover of this amazing album, when i noticed something: on the side of the CD, it says "Reefer Deecre", instead of reefer decree. I supose that this doesn't really interest anyone, but i just got kinda hyped when i saw the mistake... sorry           MiniMAL cabron...

OK - you asked for it:

Reefer Decree - Soundframes (Iboga 2001)

Tracklist:

01 Animal Planet
02 Percaution
03 It Did
04 Mortal Wombat II
05 Spinal Tics
06 Pulse Train
07 Soundframed
08 Time Drop

For me this Album is like Oxygen. I have heared it a million times, and every time i hear it, i am convinced that it's one of my all time fave's.

Starts off with "Animal Planet", with some blured vocal samples at the beginning. Slowley developing, it soons turns into a grinding, groovy blend of smooth percussions and spacey sounds.
Next we have "Percaution" - a more agressive track, with a more powerfull bassline, and a kinda fuzz-elektrik melody to top it off.
Track3 "It did", has a similar fuzzy sound like the previous track, but it's much more groovy. Slowley building up, it reaches it's peak around 4-5 minutes, throwingyou into a hypnotic rythem. After that we have "Mortal Wombat 2". This track is a low point for me. It's pretty boring, and the repietive housey background melody is nothing special either. Now we move on to "Spinal Tics". This track is superb - beutiful short melody at the start, moving onto a catchy rythem and. It makes me shake my ass. Now, "Pulse Train" - Not brilliant this one. Too ordinary, too little progression, and yet well ballanced and slightly funky. "soundframed" is the next one. Now this is Stompin'. Slow progressive & minimalistic, it really get's me shaking. Also around 5 minutes, a sweet melodic tune kicks in, and walla, we have ourselves a fine track. The final track is "Time Drop". This track is a true downtempo/ambient masterpiece. It uses the same melody as in track 5, and it's hypnotizing. Around 1:50, the beat kicks in (97 bpm), and after a minute or two, you find you youself floating in an amazong dreamy atmosphere - great finnish to a great album. The Reefers Rock!

The printing place has nothing to do with it. The cover designer is the one to blame.

Another thing to you munchie, if you noticed the numeration of tracks is also kindda' weird.
It's starting from t. number 2.

But than again, the important is the quality of music. There profession and purpose is the music, and not the bloody cover.

Yes, i noticed that too... When i first baught it, i thought there were 9 tracks on the cd, and then i saw that the tracklist starts from track 2. Maybe it's a trick to make you think that there are 9 tracks instead of 8?           MiniMAL cabron...

I got the CD in Japan when looking for something new last year.. and wow.. it was so nice and new.. at that time I felt it was the best buy of the month! I also noticed the little errors on the CD jacket (...ahh what the hell.. it no matter).. I saw Jiwook play an outdoor party 2 weeks ago in Italy.. He played his new stuff etc.. all I can say is if he releases it.. then all u guys 'n' gals are gonna be real happy... very nice tunes...(very nice party)

but it's not awesome if it's always the same! they should try a softer kick with less pop for something different.
