hi
in some circumstances my hard drives was formated....with all my cubase\ableton projects , samples ,presets , midi files , plugins...and more!!!
i thought that all my hard work was lost, including live acoustic instruments recordings!
I RECOVERED ALL THOSE FILES - 98% ( almost 160GB)
with R-Studio

After each day of work, I backup my entire projects folder on another physical HD on this computer, and over LAN on another computer.

R-Studio is really good. Helped me once to recover 100 gb of data.
Glad for you, Alias, you made it!

Normal file/folder deletion only free's the space for further use. It doesn't actually delete anything until the drive writes to that spot.
Quick formatting just wipes the disk's file allocation table. Again, the data isn't deleting or written over, it's just listed as available for writing to.
You can add data-loss to the list of death & taxes, so prepare for it.
