first of all u need a good mic. of condensator of course.
if u use the tipical dinamyc cardioid mic you will be loosing some frequencies that you need.Like the tipical sm58 from sure(they are made mustly for live acts.) ANd accomodate the room for accustics. Like if theres a lot of room.(reverb) that could mess up a reall good recording for example in voices.
and record everithing clean (without many procees) is better to record clean. and then u cand add all the procces u want.

to record drums you need 8 microphones and acoustic room... obviously good drum set would be perfect start too           www.sattelbattle.com

well electronic drums is not bad at all..you can use already high quality samples with it so no need for expensive mics and preamps..might be a good way yea...actualy dont have any experience with this e-drums so maybe someone else in here can recommend you a good set..

you just want one turntable? i wouldn`t recommend a cheap one..save up for a used 1210` and you will be happy..those are solid for years...

cheers,
