I am now into incorporating heavy doses of electric guitar into my tracks. and i have done some decent stuff, mostly or extra clean or extra heavy. I really want to get the most out of the equipment which is.
motu 828 mk2
yamaha mc1602 analog mixing desk
little marshal amp
fender stratocaster
ibanez multi pedal board.

well what im doing know is feeding the guitar straight to the analog desk to add some saturatio, then to motu where it gets processed with the likes of waves gtr - which is i must say favorite - amplitube2 or guitar rig. I really like the colour or tone the mixing desk gives the guitar and the tube amp simulation is rocking solid!, but when imm supposed to get some nice feedback .in my dreams... but all i get is some really disturbing static noise. even when connected straight to the motu, so i think is not the desk. Anybody has had similar issues. How u deal with it. i want some real guitar behaveour. i heard theres a plug called acoustic feedback vst, hope i can get my hands on that one!           www.soundcloud.com/elektroakustica/sets/downtempo/

hey bro, u should play it in your amp and than record it with a microphone. try several microphone positions as the sound will change, the room makes a big difference. if u dont have a microphone plug the amplifier out on the motu... than play it loud and u'll get all the feedback u want ... cheers!

I would DI the guitar to your mixing-desk, and send an out to both your audio interface and a guitar-amp. The amp will give you feedback to your guitar, and the send to your audio interface will enable you to record it cleanly. You could add a mic'ed signal to blend in with the DI'd signal though.

Depends on where you place the mic, if you place it close to the woofer than youŽll hardly notice the room when you record.
And by close i mean like 10-15cm.
