Hi people!
For a person to achieve good results in music production i think it's correct to separate the processes!
Recording, Mixing and Mastering!
I have some knowledje and background on that, but the people who i learned with were people involved in other syles of music like accoustic recording and not dance music, so i still find myself unclear in these processes!
I record and do my mixes in the computer and get them ready to take to studio with accoustic treatment for last process, mastering!
Can you, people with experience give some brief comments on what a person needs to consider when doing each of these processes? Please?

when ur saying u record using ur comp so what ru urecording here?what instruments and which mic?if ur purely electronic based than i dnt think there is much to do with ur recording quality and yeh if ur using ur controller have an eye on latency if u have any latency than its gotta do with ur sample rate.....
mixing and mastering all depends on ur ears mate!!

yeah my music is electronic based i might record some instruments bu not often. ok, let explain better.
Sorry people, if there is a thread on this or similar subject just tell me, ok. (i am reading the master thread, not finished yet it's quite big)
1- Do you start with a static mix or you ajust the instruments in the panorama if needed (apart from deep instruments that allways stay in the centre) ?
2- Do you insert compression or limiting from the beginning or leave-it for the later satges?
3-I have all percussion in one group and apply compression and limiting for all instruments together in order to weld them together and get an uniform sound.
Is that correct ?
4-Do you apply effects like reverb, delay from beginning or leave it for later. ( are Fx applied before or after dynamic processors) ?
5-Can you say if you use fx channel tracks ?
6-Do you build up the track without breaks and make them later to save time ?
7-Do you do automation like tweaking instruments and on the faders to introduce new events as you go or leave it for the mixing stage?
I just would like to hear about efficient ways to work so me and my friend improve our workflow and make tracks following some principles and faster.
If it's ok for you music makers share some coments on how you work and get the tracks ready for mixing and mastering, it would be wonderful!
Thanks
