so im a beginner.... (that takes care of my ego blow)
if i make a bassline and want to add effects on it, the options in midi are pretty limited... while in audio are rather endless... so how do i use the "R" and "w" features in cubase?
i understand that is the way to make a midi loop into audio...

what do you mean with options?
only little midi-fx? you get the same fx for your midi as for audio in the mixer.
"R" Read
"W" Write
while selected "W", every action you take on your vst will be written, automated. an automation channel opens as well, where you can draw the curve, opening or closing knobs and faders on your synth. you should be in "R" status to do so.
to undo automation data goto project-> browser.

To make a midi Loop to Audio
Choose your bassline track.. Solo it...
Set your Left and Right (L R) markers/locaters
inbetween your bassline...
File ---> Export -->Audio Mixdown (bassline.wav)
Then Import that bassline.wav into your audio pool Ctrl P or Just File --> Import
Walla... you got an audio file of your bassline

If it's VSTi midi, it has it's own audio channel in the mixer (F3).
If you got a strong PC, no point in making it audio.
