this could be a very dumb post, but I got a pretty serious problem

after I got a big pc crash a week ago I'm now reinstalling everything etc...logic and plugins and everything are running fine again already, BUT today I wanted to connect my virus again and recognized that I cant record it

sending midi data works fine, I hear sound and everything...but when I want to record it, it just records silence...

seems like the input is not connected with logic or something, search for the last hours now but it seems I'm just too dumb or so

btw I'm using logic 5 on pc and it is nothing with the routing of my soundcard, I can record with soundforge

any hint would be much apprecated thanx in advance guys

Logic doesn't handle audio ports inside it as it does with MIDI ports.
So if you can record with sound forge, most likely that you can with Logic too. There is no "special" preference.
It connects to your ASIO or EASI input ports as it launches.

Please check which "audio in" port you are set to record. Before recording, just arm the channels and check if you see the meter jumping.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

I also think that you are recording from the wrong input, but meters jumping is no guarantee for incomming audio. It only works if you have software monitoring on. I prefer it to be off.

I'm sorry guys, I was really just too dumb...it was nothing with logic, everything was fine there...it was the routing of my soundcard!

I was sending the ins to the output and not to asio

sorry again, dumb me           https://soundcloud.com/hazak
