So, what's your process when recording hardware synths to make leads? I'm using nord modular, ableton live and acid pro. As for basslines and some FX, i record them whith acid, export it in wav and load it into a sampler in ableton live. However i find this way very uncomfortable when making, for example typical darkpsy squelchy sounds... I record some straight sounds, some sounds while turning knobs and so on to make the same lead. So do I need to export every seperate sound in wav and load it into several different channels in ableton? I find it really hard to put them into one lead then. IS there a better way or a better software to do it? |

Record the midi file, quantize, fix note lenghts, automate synth parameters, and record the raw sound. Compression/EQ/FX I do later in the sequencer.
Repeat the process for mono sounds that came from eg. an analog modular synth, to have double the VCOs and massive stereo image, that will work fine when I monofy the mix as well.
Peace out.
