howdy,
i understand to bounce midi messages from a piece of hardware (for compression and other audio effects) i need to record it (not bounce) in cubase. However i wouldnt have the slightest about how to go about this? can someone please enlighten me on this situation. I believe all my connections are correct.
thanks very much

Bouncing you do like "Export-Audio Mixdown"
When recording, you have the midi track with the notes and automatation you want your synth to play...and also you have a audio track where your synth is playng in "monitor" right? you just need to select that track, click the record button (the circle...) and voila...it records your synth to that audio track...
hope it may help, i dunno if this is what you were asking....

Yep its that simple... this way it records in real time, not like bouncing trough exporting
But you dont want to record the midi channel, you want to record the audio channel (so click on the audio channel that is in monitor to select it before hitting the record button)
If you select the midi channel what it will record is the midi automatation you change, not the audio |

Na boa glad I was of help
but notice this is just for hardware synth, if u r working with vst and u want to export you need to bounce (as far as i know at least...could be wrong)
also you probably did choose the monitor button otherwise i think you wouldn´t be able to even hear it. what you probably forgot to do was to select the audio track b4 hitting the record button |
