I'm running Cubase SX3 and Ableton Live 7.. I'd like to be able to just record the audio coming from ableton directly into a cubase audio track.. has anyone done this? I've been messing with the routing options but I just can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks in advance.

its not possible thats exactly what i wanted to do...
unfortunately , cubase likes to be the master not the slave, live really doesnt care about it but when its in slave mode u cant use the vst plugin rather wack, blame it though on cubase fukn assholes, i dont like how cubase also treats theyre customers they have been known to ditch the support of their products for their loyal customers they suck... they once we're a great company but as they have been sold on to other companies they're focus has not been steady,...
the best companies with great support in the pass haved been RME - Greeat people and ableton aswell very nice guys, motu sucked, steinberg aswell frickn pricks! SAWstudio is great the developer gets online in the forum and talks to the customers and grants em feauture that users want try that with cubase BLAAA, also dave Smith is great really like dat guy...
but from rme's department Shaun and Jeff are great
they been always very helpful wish other companies would be so nice i know its off topic but anyways

What? I'm not asking anything about vsts

Think this might be what I'm lookin for:

"You can mixdown the Live ReWire input in Cubase SX by setting the Left and Right Locators and choosing "Export > Audio mixdown" from the Files menu"

yep, that was it.. you just select the Ableton output in the bounce menu on Cubase.

yeah, just audio from live.. I like Live's sampler stuff and looping and mangling. Mostly percussion and craziness like that.. I use all my vsts in cubase.

oh ok ur using the vst's in cubase, but using lives timestretching capabilities to your advantage... i wanted to use the vst's in live and just use cubase for its arrangement view since its more clean atleast for me... best regards

ps. yeh i also like live's sampler it's very straight forward and gets more than job done, coming from the old school emu n akai hardware samplers to live's sampler was a truly beautyful thing.

so really what you want is lives master to run into an audio track in cubase so you can record live into cubase for your editing?
