record vsti sound to audio track

hi there! i use cubase sx3 and i'm wondering if there's a way to record a vsti sound to an audio track on the fly (i mean, without having to hit file-> export audiomixdown). just by pressing record in the audiotrack and having the sound of the vsti directly recorded to the audio track. I bet there's some way to do that, just dont find out how it's done. any sugestions will be appreciated.

well, i can make that but with rme fireface, without the soundcard i dont know, i wondering too if that y works without card...i think exporting is the only way to do that |

if u want to tweak in realtime and record open up sound fordge or any other recording program and record the output of ur comp while ur playing around wit the synth . |

create a group and an audio track.
route the vst instrument channel output to the group u created, then in the input routing of the audio track u created choose the group channel. then press record on the audio channel, and now u can record the vsti to an audio channel. |

ive tried that, but when i try to set the input of the audio track to group 1 it simply doesnt appear as the input of that track. the only input i coud set to the audio track is asiom multimedia driver in... =/ |

yes that is right in cubase u cannot record on a group track its just like a bus

in cubase sx3 its not possible but since cubase 4 it is..upgrade man...its really woth it..just get an edu version for half the price..

is there sum nice small standalone software like the voxengo plugin 4 windows ... like a simple thing which records ur audio from watever player ur using ... i use sound fodge but need sum lite program for quick use . |
