Why when I record my extrenal synth, the payback is correct when recording but after hitting stop, the event start is a half step too late? (!!!)

Like here :

I have to change the event start each time manually and that sucks.

Could someone help me ?

What if you hit record one or two steps before the midi pattern starts playing? But anyway this doesnt sound logical to happen, maybe its something to fix from the menu , project setup/preferences, i cant recall if theres such a function or where it is right now unfortunately
Ill try to post later when im home and check in my daw

Hi Gutter,
I don't want to start recording before because the synth is controlled by an analog sequencer that needs to start sequencing when I hit the record button in Cubase.

This should be a setting problem somewhere in Cubase because it's not logic at all (why would I cut what I record and completely loose synchronization?).

Could you tell me if it happens to you too ?
Just record some audio from an external source and double click on the audio sample that you just recorded.
When I go all the way left, I can see that there are a few seconds or even less of samples on the gray part just before the event start.

i see
i have no problems, even yesterday i was recording a synth to C5, i usually have one midi track and one audio below to record from the synth, everything is in place except the few milliseconds latency.
I think this has happened to me in Nuendo, i really have to see that and experiment a little within the sequencer, cannot think of something

sound like a too big buffersize, try at least a 256 buffersize , the lower you can get without crackling the better is the latency..

hope it helps...           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

Hi Zork,
I already use a 256 buffer with my motu ultralight.

I just found how to "Fix it" :
I just have to set the record shift to -6648 samples.
Something (I dont't know what) in my setup is introducing latency and when I record my modular synth I miss a few seconds of recording.

Thanks for your help guys !
I hope I'll find what is introducing this latency.
