Germany isn't a country known for great movies, but there are some exeptions.
One of the best and most known german directors is Wim Wenders and his movies are well worth checking out.
My favorite is "Der Himmel ueber Berlin" (Wings of desire):

Pusher: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117407/
A movie following a drugdealers downfall. Rough movie without any unrealistic Hollywood clichés. (A funny note by the way – in the end of the movie, they are actually at a Danish party, where we hear a track by Koxbox!)
Festen (The Celebration): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0154420/
A movie about a normal family (or so it seems), but the son has a horrible story to tell about the father. The first movie in the quite famous serie of “Dogme” movies. (“Dogme” meaning unsteady cam, no overlay music, all scenes are shot on real locations, not on moviesets etc.)

Nice movies recomendations here...
Already watched Spirited Away (which seems like a modern days and oriental alice in wonderland) and Festen (In portuguese it's something like: Family Party, strong movie).
I recomend: Amarelo Manga (Mango Yellow):

Very good cult movie! This movie is about so many things (religion, sexuality, death, chance, drugs, the way things happens, etc). Worth to watch!

Okay finnish movies are about as weird and bizarre as finnish psytrance.. Anyways here are a few suggestions:
Rukajärven Tie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0162625/
It is the summer of 1941 and the Finnish army has been mobilized along the border with Russia. A platoon led by Lt. Eero Perkola is waiting for orders to go on the offensive. The platoon receives orders for a recon mission through the wilderness around the Lieksa lake to search for possible Russian defensive positions. When the platoon rests in a newly conquered village Lt. Perkola meets his fiancee Kaarina Vainikainen, who is serving in the Women's Auxilary Corps (Lotta). The platoon continues with the mission, but after some time a terrible message reaches Lt. Perkola. The message causes Perkola to become totally indifferent to his and his platoon's safety during the remainder of the mission. Finnish war movie
Vieraalla maalla http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367204/ A comedy about prejudism towards minorities
Levottomat http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0231971/
Levottomat is a very interesting movie. Quite unique in every sense, and sometimes steps on the border between drama and softcore porn, even if it doesn't really pass it. I found the acting to be pretty good, and the story is quite intriguing. The main character reminds me a lot of a very close friend of mine, so I couldn't keep from bursting out a laughter at times. Though this doesn't mean the movie was funny as in a comedy. Though it's still got its sad and funny sides in its own way. More like sad stuff, I would say. It's frustrating to see how those girls value their sexual joy more than their friendship.

Take your pick.
America has some of the best and worst movies in the world.
Great films like Terminator 1 and 2 and terrible films like Terminator 3
