Hi ya'll.

Does anyone have experiences with Midi-mixer controllers for Logic?

I've been looking on the 8 channel midi-mixer BCF2000 from Behringer (http://www.behringer.com/BCF2000/index.cfm?lang=ENG) - the motorized faders could come in quite handy - but I'm not sure if it would go well with Logic 7?

I've also been looking on the Mackie Control (http://www.mackie.com/products/mcu/index.html) but it cost a lot more than the Behringer.

Any suggestions, comments, experiences?

I'm using this:http://www.rolandus.com/rug/index.asp?pg=hands_on&art=spp

It's a midi and audio io, including support for logic, cubase, sonar, etc. It's very rare and few were made

I'm really enjoying it

I'm not sure if the Behringer will work well with logic, but i know someone who is selling a Tascam FW-1884 which is a midi mixer, an amazing sound card, a Logic audio control surface, and a stand alone mixer as well... It has every input / output you can imagine including 4 midi ins and 4 midi outs, and up to 18 audio ins it has 8 fantastic preamps... one of the best units around... for $1000 US dollars

Im using the mackie control/xt by myself and imho the mackies are best for logic. The integrated displays are very useful, especially for songs with lot of tracks where you use bank switching a lot.
As far as i know theres a software to emulate the displays on your screen for use with the tascam, but thats not the same as having displays above the faders.
Personally i prefer to use seperate devices for e.g. audio and controller. So i can upgrade the audio interface very easy without having to change the controller as well.

Logic Control was von emagic, built by mackie and no longer available. Mackie Control is the actual model, same hardware (the control universal has just another color and printing) but different firmware. You can also upgrade a logic control to mackie control.
With the new firmware the controllers can emulate the "Logic Control" and Mackie Control protocoll.

Mindfly: i just bought the Behringer BCF 2000 (the one with the faders) and i think it's awesome. The new software version has an emulation of the Mackie Control and also of the Logic Controller, so it's very easy to set up and integrate with your sequencer.

Ofcourse the faders might disintegrate next week, but i don't really think so since they are the same that are used by Yamaha. As far as i'm concerned this is good value for money. And it's a sexy sight when the faders submissively jump into their positions when you switch banks, prrrr.....
