A good master to me means right overall balance in whole freg scale and dynamic scale, means it will deliver from tiny laptop speaker to the biggest PA in planet earth, from tiny volumes to maximum voltage. Also right balance in stereo image is important..
I find mastering at my home conditions difficult, because he lack of acoustics, gear, and experience. Means dont have the right objective point of you for understand it that big scale, even i know all the principals of mastering.
To me its better give it away after mixing. Remember that even mixing is not easy to manage from your own side if you dont have lot of experience and the tools for it. Thats why most of the worlds music is mixed by mixing engineers..

Also guess I need to retrain first to make serious psy at all 
Better I first learn to make this music style properly and then think about mastering. But I usually dont think about the style when I start a track, it is mostly more or less experimental or random what comes out lol
