Bah! Role Playing Games does not mean there has to be fighting experience.
Wiki says:
A role-playing game (RPG; often roleplaying game) is a game in which the participants assume the roles of fictional characters.[1] Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization,[1] and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines.[2] Within the rules, players have the freedom to improvise; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the game.[2]
Before point and click where text based engines... they're all RPG.

Here you go... all the games I mentioned are in there.
Final Fantasy was the next generation RPG... beginning of the end for the entire ideology of games developed by companies like Sierra. Need something that doesn't involve killing oversized frogs...or randomly killing anything for that matter.
If you have the patience try playing Little Big Adventure 2 (Twinsen's Odyssey). Pure genius... more adventure, and less time wasting by fighting other characters. And a BRILLIANT soundtrack.

Yidam you have confused Adventure Games with RPG Games.
In every game you assume the role of a character but this doesnt make the game an RPG.I mean even in Grand Theft Auto series you are a character but the game is not an RPG in any case.
All the games you mentioned are classic Adventure Games and most of them were developed by the legendary Sierra in its golden times

Ok ok
Am a retired gamer in anycase... so no point starting another thread. My younger sibling took over post 2000.... never really got into console gaming either. This whole FF/WoW is way beyond. There was one in between that was nice ... Black/White. But I don't think that's RPG either.
Anyway, if you guys have any PC recommendations based on the Adventure Game genre like those old gold ones do tell. |

FF VI and IX should do the trick.
Also, Metal Gear II is a great oldschool RPG style game that finally got released in the US a few years ago. Pick up MGS3 Subsistence and you can play it on the bonus disk.
