errr... no she's not and the guys are definately not!
btw: the girls in the samba video are cute but very lame. i thought the brazillian girls had some fire in them. any finnish middle aged man with no dancing skills at all could shake his flabby ass like that (finns are perhaps the stiffest people on earth, after the british ofcourse)           "no one ever sweats on a plug-in" -moby

I Might be wrong, but my brazilian experience has taught me that rebolation is a term used for hypnotic and repetitive dancing, the term is usually applied when people is dancing to progressive tracks and it is usually girls who rebolate.

I think the term is pretty funny some people also call progressive music rebolex in brazil

brazil brazil brazil braaaaazil braaaaazil

it's got the old skool hip hop influence of breakdancing, using quick and coordinated feet movement and a mixture of the modern house dance, a lot of the miami house dancing is similar with the body movement and coordinated foot movement.

You gotta love it, it's another form of free expression.

The people who don't like it, for the most part obviously are the olderskoolers who think this is some sort of pop dance.

Brazilians can get down!!

It's time to move on to the next step in the psychedelic revolution. We've reached a certain point, but we're not moving any more.

Funny, this remains me of the old raving days here in Germany in the early and mid 90ies. This is excactly the military-like step even I used to dance for the short period I was into Happy Hardcore before discovering psy.

Just with a little laxer hips but I guess that's one of the difference between Germans and Braszilians. ;-)

I think it looks cool at first but comes a little unnatural and posed.           I love humanity but I hate people.

Nobody rebolates like the search:
http://forum.isratrance.com/rebolation/1-111046/

By the way, the verb "rebolar" (tranlation it to "to rebolate" means sort of "move your ass while dancing". Girls around here rebolate a lot while dancing, specially on some specific music rhythms like lambada, samba, axé music and many others.

These kind of dance moves appeared with the populatization of psytrance parties, which here happen almost every day of the week, and we have easily 10+ parties with 1000+ people per weekend, plus every weekend at least a couple of 10.000+ people parties.

These parties are far from that original psychedelic enviroment innitially proposed and executed by people searching for introspective and/or psychedelic experiences. Drugs are still there, but mainly with reacreational purposes, and the parties look a lot like "indoors club parties, but outdoors".

In this enviroment, there's still the feeling of freedom, and different persons bring to the parties different kind of influences, which I think to be a positive aspect.

What is not positive IMO is to see like 100+ people dancing the same way, in sort of a herd behavior, mainly because it is fashion or cool to dance this way. On the other hand, they feel good, and this is good, so I still think it is a much better thing to see than people falling on the ground because they're doing too much (which also happen a lot around here).

Respect!          .

Maggox is right...this is just breakdance which was later used by hip-hop dancers.
Though is a bit out-place, everyone should dance the way they want or the the way the music touches them...Brazilian people just dont care about prejudice which by the way is very cool...

P.S. - Rebolation suits girls much better
