i love it
the mastering tools help quite a bit to clear and improve the sound.
the combinator is great for managing complexity, and plays many sounds with one midi source.
it is still rock solid and lightning fast compared to cubase+vsts, however it still doesnt sound as nice to me. i think they need a new synth module or 2.
to combine cubase and reason is really nice tho.
and for live PA, ableton live 4 + reason 3 is a killer combination. |

hey, i got Reason 3 , and i use it substantiably for sound design because it is a fucking powerful modular studio...i have created many incredible sounds.....and some very unique sounds...
the new mastering tool are magnificant in the way they give the sound the needed quality to be used in real projects...
i dont sequence in Reason anymore, because it is limited and irratating, so i rewire from cubase...
its a wasoem piece of software..and it can only get much much more hectic and more powerful!!!!
I dont do the drugs....I AM the drugs |

i know previous versions, and agree its way of sequencing its far from perfect, but again it seems to be a great tool(or a box of tools) i'm curious to try it but i feel if i'm not being fooled by its great looking

right now its all i use im very comfortable with it except occaisionally ive got to be creative with wav editors and importing as sample to do what i need it to im just hoping reason 4 will have new synths or some sort of plugin support i love reason but theres only so much you can do with these synths no doubt the mastering tools were a great addition improved my sound immensely but need a few more fx and synths it was very dissapointing after hearing the vst support rumors to find there was none but if this happens i wont feel the need to move to cubase check out www.myspace.com/facehead acquainted with the night is all reason 3 its a 96kbps mp3 though so dont let the quality steer you away the automation is easy the fx are high quality id say try it but hear for yourself all are reason but this is the only one from version3 |
