Hi
Some of you guys obviously have a lot of experience when it comes to midi and audio, so please help me here. I am very little expeienced in this stuff (Just sequencing on a Triton, and watching a producer-friend of mine at work)
I am planning on using reason, but what other programs should I use it with? Cubase? Cakewalk?
The soundcard I was planning to buy (lexicon Omega. It has everything I need) doesn`t have ASIO drivers for steinberg yet, so this will be a huge problem if I am going for Cubase...
Any of you use Cakewalk? What do you suggest I go for? Being a newbie and all. |

Hi Barius,
If you are planning to use your triton, reason won't help you there, since this program does not send out midi to your triton...
So that means you will have to go for Cubase, Sonar (Cakewalk),......or if you are Mac user, Logic .
There are lotts of threads about different sequencing programmes - use the search option- so you might find your answer there...
Good Luck !!!

Yeah, I was thinking about using Reason as an additional synthrack, and various softsynths. And my Trton and Nord Lead 2 of course
But anyway, Cakewalk or Cubase? I`ll do some searching, but I would still like answers in this thread. |

I meant Sonar 3.0
But thanx, that sorted things out. Especially regarding hardware. |

ive been told you can use the sonar and the reason... togheder...
so mate i whould go for the sonar no affance cubase users, i give respects but to people who havnt learned cubase it looks like a huge machine that god knows where to start from
reason is easy to use, verry powerfull and can be used with the sonar that gives u all the midi support u currently need...
what disturbs me though and prolly will disturb u too is how to masterize a track made by sonar and reason or just by reason but thats a whole other thread

hi!
you can use REASON and CUBASE as a master/slave: with ReWire software, CUBASE becomes the sequencer, and controls reason. All midi production can be done over the brilliant REASON and then transfered as synchronised audio tracks to CUBASE, where additional audio recording could take place (synths etc.-> when it comes to samplers by the way, REASON's DR. REX + ReCicle beats any other option!!)
