Reason is Great...
Its sound is the best...
Equal to Hardware, alright...
I've been playing with it live recently (in a jungle party) and the people kept asking me what is my gear!
I didn't tell 'em it was only a software proggie....
A sure winner.
Get Reason!

reason is very nice- but still its just a big fat toy.
you can`t do anything complex with it.

Reason is a toy?
What are you kidding!?
Reason is a full studio, and it is meant to make pro productions.
I just made a very very pro Acid track which will be probably published in a UK Acid label.
Together with Rebirth-Reason is a full music studio, and it is superb.
The productions quality is amazing...
Think about it....

Well maybe Reason ain't a toy, but in my opinion it still has far to go till the quality of a serious studio.

Just think that if u want to apply 6 different verbs to six different parts ( I mean quality reverbs and no to lo - tek ) your PC goes uhhhhhdddddddown and u need to dump it all and then the work is not really 'Real Time' and it's very hard to undo something that suddenly doesn't sound as good as it did b4 and so on.

In my opinion - computer proggies that sold as a big and phat and very tempting bunch of opportunities resemble alot to mini Hi Fi systems u can buy in a mole - they look wonderfull but they are far from nuying a decent decks stereo choosing every part separatedly.

yes Yuli, I agree.
it is quite similar to those neat mini hi fi systems with a wide range of spectrum effects and such, but quality wise, it sux.

I would call E-Jay and such plain toys. but Reason isn't close to it. I mean, Reason is finally the app that enables newbies such as me to see how to work on different decks just as if you had a real studio. and if I'll study it more I'll know just perfectly how to use a real studio (if i'll ever have one) and since I can't efford and not going to spend money on a real studio than Reason is the best thing I can have. another thing - if you'll check the manual of Reason you'll see it teaches alot of basics essential stuff as well and not just "how to use" topics.

I wouldn't say Reason is THAT revolutionary. there're many apps of softsynths, samplers, sequencers, mixers, drums stations, etc. but from experience, when I try to work with all of them together, I bumped into crashes, lots of delays, and overall all sort of bugs of programms that just refuse to shake hands and work together.

so Reason is finally the app that put so well together all those different apps to one package. without having to curse your computer at least every 10 minutes. :)

btw, Leo. hey my man. :)
I have Reason, you know how to contact me..

I finnaly got my hands on Reason and its really good but you can only praise it as a computer prog. NO software can EVER mach a real sudio...you cant get the feel and the flow of real equipment. I meen its great to sit at home and create music on when you have the time and quiet to preset all your sampels and loops but I couldnt imagine going on stage with it.

the sequenser is very bad. and more shitty stuff.thats it.

All the buzz that surrounds the programm is really exagurated. Yes it has awesome drummachine, cool and handy GUI but the sequencer is absolutely aweful and the quality of sound is bad.
Also the price is too high.
Fruity Loops and Orion cost 10th of Reason's price and not less effective.

Well I want to add that today I had the pleasure to chack on this program ( original one ) and is as follows -

It's a very nice TOY with some phat sounds

For sure possible producing with it interesting stuff - nothing of extremely high sound quality though..

Sequencer sucks badly and falls from leading seq's of it's kind

The only VERY GOOD thing are the wave kits - boy, they have some very nice loops there + quite a few funky stuff TOO BAD some has effect added on it already - it's very unpro but except of that the sounds are good.

One more big minus is lack of decent fx - in the times of great effect plugs there is no one good enough reverb to take with me on a deserted island so I might take some nice lookin' lady instead..
