Honestly, where does Reason stack up?           assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

IMHO: Good as additional instrument for more " " Professional" " programs like Cubase or Logic.
Not good enough as a standalone.
Why? Clumsy sequencer mostly, and a lot of ppl and me included will tell that it sounds too dry.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

I have found very few people that can make Reason sound really good, but BohdiSatva can... Some of the stuff he does with reason, I am still trying to figure out even after asking him. I think that it really doesn't matter as much what you use as it is how proficiently you use it. I know that there are quite a few artists that make Reason work for them, but I agree with Pavel and think that the best way to use reason is in conjunction with another sequencer..           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

i also think it sounds a little muffled... but we all know that almost anything is possible anywhere.... you just got to have the will power to get there...

i bet those who are good with reason have learnd it in and out, and manytimes record their own sounds
and i bet that layering is sometimes necessary..

but thats just my thoughts..

Reason is a great tool to add some extra percussion.. fx.. leads to ur track...
I wouldnt use it all by itself.
Reason along with another sequencer thru Rewire works good...
I know a bunch of artists who have used it.

i only use REASON 2.5 PLUS NOW

made 3 albums for personal use

mastered using (hahaha) MAGIX CLEANUP LAB
and T-RACKS( tube sompression)
(BETWEEN THESE TWO PROGGIES I GET A REASONABLY "HEHE" CLEAN AND COMPRESSED MIX)

trance and euro friends think they sound pretty good
and havent twigged i'm only using REASON

I'm very happy with the transformation from my full trance studio
(which i still sample from)

whatever i cant do in REASON i import from wavs

there will be tracks coming soon under 3D23
(have a listen and judge for your self)

one hAPPY REASON user
(oh by the way i record mix through an old GERMANIUM transistor PEAVEY 1200 professional floor mixer, which warms up the mix )

Reason its a very good tool to use together with a sequencer with Rewire... special with cubase. Someones thinks reason sounds too poor... but it depends the banks, refills and presets that you use. The reason FX.. are really professional... delay and reverb.. we use it a lot. But the big thing on Reason its that you can create some weird experiences as connecting two synths together, make gates and other strange thinks that can transform your sound in something really different.

Anyway... reason.. its a great tool!           -------
