I did a massive Isratrance & general internet search for this recently and found SQUAT.

It seems there's some sort of proprietary compression going on. I found one article that the guy claimed to have loaded a refill has raw data in a sound editor, but had to time strech the results by some set amount. I tried what he said but Soundforge wouldn't recognize it as a raw data file.

Oh yeah, I also found lots of "Load Reason and export the sounds one by one". No thanks.

i found a forum thread somewhere in cyberspace that was talking about using "ReCycle." im not even sure if that would work.

just thought i'd throw that out there...

[edit] it was talking about REX files. i just assumed that was the extension for refills. so i could be completly wrong.

The way I proceed:

Take the .rex, nn19, nnxt sample you want to add in Cubase.
Load it in the reason sequencer.Play it and set locators around it's lenght.
Then:solo>file>export song as audio file>save it somewhere.
Open this new .wav with Cubase or Recycle to make a proper .rex

Or: why not using Reason as rewire and load all the samples you like from there and add effects thru Cubase if you don't like Reason ones?

Cheers           Psybient/Downtempo psytrance album "Mystique" released!

WAVELOGIX said it. It's a proprietory format, like the video on commercial DVD. The audio is compressed with a loss less codec, as propllerheads say "Samples (Wave and AIFF files) are compressed to about half their original file size when stored in ReFills.".
You're asking how to hack this thing. Even if I knew (and I don't), I couldn't tell it here, right ?           "a new art came into my mind which only you can create, the Art of Noises, the logical consequence of your marvelous innovations." Russolo, 1913

That's what PMs are for!

Actually, though, I don't see anything inherently illegal about that. If you've bought a reason refill you should be able to use the content however you want. After all, you can just export the audio manually as we've discussed...
