hi...im having a problem with using my oxygen 8 with reason...when i right click any synth parameter and enable midi, if i rotate any rotary knob on my keyboard(on the same send and recieve channel of course) that parameter should move right? well its not happening with me...what do you think the problem could be?
also, is it possible to automate any parameter of any softsynth in cubase sx? also is it possible to draw automations for these parameters like in reason?
please help!

-First of all go in the menu to edit/preferences
-then choose page "advanced midi"
-here you can define "remote control"...choose the correct midi-port which you use for your controller, otherwise it will not work!
-then close the settings dialog box and go in the menu to options. Very important, here you have to select "enable midi remote mapping"
-now right-klick the parameter which you to control and then choose "edit midi control mapping"
-now you see a dialog box of midi remote. Be sure that learn from midi input is selected!!! Now just move the controller and then klick "ok"
-If you move the controller now, it should work.

What's more is that you can also use your typing keyboard as a controller. But then u only can use them as a switch. Nice to switch drums on and off. U can mute/unmute the samples in redrum. For this u select enable keyboard remote in the options menu en then learn the knobs the same way as the controllers...try it out...

I am not a cubase user (not at this point), but I know you can automate also in cubase sx. Just read the beginner manual in the help menu. It is a very nice pdf-file. In cubase sx it is 180 pages, but very quick to read...lot's of images .. very easy!

I hope this was helpfull to you..

greatz

also cheak the 'MIDI Implementation Charts.pdf' in the reason folder. it'll give you all the controller mapping for reason devices.           "a new art came into my mind which only you can create, the Art of Noises, the logical consequence of your marvelous innovations." Russolo, 1913
