in redrum, you have seperate controls for each sound. simply play with the cut off, attack time, resonance, and such, till you find the kick you like.

omer do you know how to get a good kick anywhere ?

after you do it, record it with your favourite audio editor, and load the sample into reason.

I just love the kicks done in soundforge. they are so exqusitely Kicking!

now to the point:

open a stereo file in SF.

go to synthesis, FM Synthesis.
choose a sine wave, 0.60
than normalize it.
go to pitch - pitch bend.
handle the line accross from the far top left corner to the far right bottom corner of the wav. press preview and change as desired. next, Ok the pitch bend, and crop out the kick in the making.
now, re do the pitch bend, only this time to it from around the middle of the line, drawing it downwards (IM recomended the 50%, but that's just their way).
tweak it around with the preview, cut the wave form again and start kicking!

if you come to a result close enough to what you want... load the sample in the reason nn19 sampler and try clicking the Notch filter and placing the frequency around 50-60 (i prefer 54)

watch out for the Amp level... in some cases it makes the kick sound really...kicking!

u can try opening a high-pich snare in a redrum, pull the spesific channel through a eq` and fuck it over.. add just a touch of reverb...
NOW THATS A FUCKED KICK!!
