Man...I am using Reason consistently in my productions lately, but I always thought that it was good for sequencing and loops...but the synth sounds were totally limited...I was wrong!
Yesterday, I started to experiment with CV Freq/Rate Modulations from effects like the Phaser into Modulation Outputs in NN19 Sampler and Subtractor Synth...holly shit..I got really kick ass sounds with it...cant compare!!! If u want to get Pro Synth sounds from your Reason....MODULATION is the key!!! Dont let those small input and output CVs fool u....they are the secret to get PSYCHO sounds in Reason!!! |

ALSO u can put a matrix cv output into mixer pan and automate stereo for mono synths
or many weird stuuf pluging your red drum kick gate out into bass filter in modulation wooooooow]

Actually i think reason is a killer software when youve given it some time to learn the sequencer and all the "hidden" stuff, but i think theres a BIG LACK of sound quality and the reason soundbank sux.

maybe they've improved the sound quality and the sound bank, alhtough i believe the samples are the artist's responsiblility and not propellerhead's :) |

i get nice quality with reason and i have a terrible sound card
sound factory bank - i dont use it |
