hi!

I have a problem with a bassline - maybe someone who knows reason4/thor can help me out...

...there is a kind of clicking which i cant get rid of....

i have uploaded a reason file with only the thor patch and the bassline midi.

http://rapidshare.com/files/308888450/bass-thor-clicking.rns.html

or

http://www.file-upload.net/download-2020797/bass-thor-clicking.rns.html

if you turn down the decay of the amp env or/and the decay of the filter env you can hear it clearly.

i have tweaked around a lot - but cant solve it... as this is a realy simple patch there are not many possibilities where it could come from

any ideas?

gizmobaggins - wicked bass!

I suggest you play around with the filters velocity and Envelope amount, as its so rich in harmony those occasional clicks wont be heard, and even so it analog emulation man! hehe.. But experiment with the filter settings and Filter Env ADSR and Amp ADSR, like i think you have... eventually you will find something... also try different osc waveforms

if you are out for a very clean saw bass i would understand the eager to have total control of the clicks, but that is often easy fixed with a lowpass filter...

here you go with a kick and some percussion and some sounds..
I made a rar didnt know if reason include the wav(kick) in the savefile.. either way

Good luck and just tweak and dont be too picky, you can fix thing like this in the end..'

moving the attack slider next to the decay slider you speak of about a quarter of the way up will fix it

nice sequence by the way, this is gonna be a neat tune

hope i catch it if and when you post

well i wanst picky about it till i finished the whole song... but now as the song is done- i have to deal with those kind of things to make it as good soundig as i possibly can do ... in the end i allways mute everything and start unmuteing sequence after sequence to make everything fit together - and when there is only the kick and the bass unmuted those clicks make to much noise - or take to much space in the virtual box of the song - so if they wouldt be there the rest of the sequences would fit much better together!

No. reason does not save the samples – which is pretty shitty – every time you install your system again – you have to tell reason the location of every sample you have used ... pretty anoying ... so good you saved it as a rar with the kick.

I can see how u have used the velocity and the env to decrease the clicking to a point where it realy does not matter anymore – but it still is there and it makes the bass smover imo, which can also be realy nice too –

With the triankle waveform instead of the saw it sounds good too – more grove imo.
(never tryed to make fullonbass with something else then a saw )

I havnt used the wavetable so much before– but as i now can see it SURE ROCKS!!!!

Psybro: .. first i tought you are kind of making fun - because moving the attack of the amp upwarts sure will fix it – the clicking will go away – but so will the whole bass...

but then i tweaked around a bit – and found the amount where the clicking goes away but the bass is still in there!! (more or less 29,8 ms) the magical border hehe!!

WoHO – finaly !!! thank you both very much!!!

YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY !!
