Yo! Much respect Psybratt!

I think Sonar and Acid are both awsome sequencers, i suppose the only reason i use Cubase is because i've used it for years and its very familiar to me, plus i actually own a legitimate copy of it lol! (along with a legit Reason) . I think Sonar is quite probably more powerful though, especially with its easy groove clips and stuff.

FaceHead makes a very good point about Reason being the most "fun" to use. I totally agree, never has a program inspired me to play around and have fun more than Reason.

The simple and intuitive sequencing and automation is definatly a plus! Even though the sequencer is not very powerful, its still easy, at least for people who dont use ReWire. Plus the CPU usage is nothing. I can run massive racks on my shitty laptop! And its very efficiantly coded and stable.

Here's to version 4.0!

Peace..

Tell that to Milo. Drop The Pressure and the rest of his entire album was written on Reason (mixed in Pro-Tools).

hence the imo*...
You can do a lot in Reason, I agree..but not nearly as efficient as working with audio tracks and VSTi's (again, imo)

I think if you are trying to make a typical lead reason is weak but some of the craziest leads ive made have been on the subtractor im gonna post them just to prove that its not the best but its also not worthless. gimme a day or 2. ill put up a link.

and yes I will buy 4.0 regardless. with such easy automation and low cpu usage its the most fun out of any music program ive used not the best but the funnest.

:chuk:

yeah...i have also made some pretty epic crazy leads in reason ....

if anybody doubts Reason

the track called MIND REALITY was totally produced in Reason 2.5 without the new mastering suite.

Assuming Reason 3 is mostly similar to 2.5 I'd say it's the most underated sequencer/ collection of synths out there. I love how you can wire and sound source back through the filters in the maelstrom then out through to the vocoder through much distortion. A good friend of mine learnt to produce music in studios with hardware and swears by reason because it's a lot easier to adapt to rather than learning to use some complex computer program. Everything is right there in front of you.

Great for all types of music.

So really you meant "I can't produce anything good with Reason"
Let's face it, if someone can write and produce a #1 hit album on Reason (even if you don't like the album!) it is good for something.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

yes everything is there and as rightly said i love those wirings and all thru which one can make really good sounds by sending signals into anything it's not like any other software which gives you just samples loops and at the end of the day one is called an artist but it's something which can only be used properly by someone who knows what is he doing or what does he want where does he want his signals to go and al details about audio in true sense that's a psytrance artist in my eyes i am not saying that who so ever learns reason will be an artist but yes an artist only can use reason to it's level. it's actually made for someone who knows everything about audio not like any kiddish software with which one can become an artist in just 2 days.
so personally i think reason is a good software for one who knows how to use it !            Truth will always guard our souls......
