I think you're right about that. First of all the subtractor is mono, so it doesn't get that fat wide stereo spread sound. (Though it can produce some really wicked sounds )
You can get that with the malstrom, but that will require you to use the same sound on both of the oscilators and and turn up the "spread".

or just duplicate the audio file generated by the subtractor and pan one left and the other right... Try EQ and compression on the subtractor and it'll sound much phatter... Both those synths can sound great (especially the maelstrom), I already heard them, just keep on trying... |

to get a big big sound from the Reason synths, Layer several subtractors or maelstroms . Definitely use MANY MANY FX. Reason is so efficient that it won't kill your computer. Try using a couple delays going into different directions and try layering notes on top of each other. The Scream is a great distortion module. Also try Unison for that big detuned fat sound. Best of luck. |

I know how you feel WAVELOGIX, but it's not realy such a big problem. export the tracks as 24 bit files to your favorite audio seq, use quality plug-ins and it will sound as good as any other VSTi.

Or just split (with the spider) the output to 2 tracks in da mixer ... And yes tons of fx will make it work.
