sure, it s very good, i left using it before the version 3 cause it was not working well with my ssl duende ,now i m sure it kick ass..one of my favorite daw i used with logic and cubase . (like all daw it have strenght and weakness but lot of very usefull feature that make you wonder if they have a brain at steinberg yeah i love to bash steinberg )
i like more reaper development than logic and cubase, you could ask for features ,reaport bugs and they try to fix them ,stuff like that.
you should give it a try make you will like it, maybe not. |

It has definetly way more to offer than ableton ,without a doubt, and sure you can rewire all what you want to it.Compare it with logic or cubase.Killer daw definetly.

Hi, my name is ohshit and i am a Reaper addict.
V4 is coming out soon with a s*itload of improvements (surround, gui, mouse modifiers, etc etc)
some suggestions:
-You can create your actions or combos and assign at a new button or o new tooolbar (render+reverse item is one of my fav).
-There is no difference between midi and audio tracks, nor mono or stereo, nor sends or return or fold. Every track can be all of those things at the same time.
-check all the fx that comes with Reaper: are undocumented and ugly but very functional (compressor, delay, algo reverb and impulse reverb...) |

I used to use Live for mixdowns (I write in Renoise then output stems), but more than like 20 tracks and it falls over. Reaper runs 45 tracks simultaneously at 50% CPU.
version 3 is 2mb. Even Audacity is bigger.
My work has streamlined so much, and Ive grown musically by leaps and bounds since I started on Reaper.
Highly recommended, no complaints.
If you cant tell I like to use low-cost products created by people who care about those who are going to be using their programs. Renoise + Reaper, I think I want their logos tattooed on my shoulder blades, and if I was a chick, Id have taktik and cockos' babies

I use Reaper on mac and love it , for me the best DAW out there considering i use it to record like a super advanced Ultra stable tape recorder. You can split an audio file in to 100 parts and individually assign fx to each of them , that too on the same audio track, Individual Amplitude handles for the audio file . It offers 64bit summing too =))).
The only downside is that they could do better in the Stock plugins but that doesnt affect me

This is partially true.
Stock Reaper plugins are ugly and undocumented but are also very functional.
ReaDelay is my choice, ReaComp is powerful and easily sidechainable, ReaEq is nice (in v4 it will include a spectrum analyzer) and there are a lot of other goodies like JS Hugebooty that can replace Waves Rbass nicely. |
