Hi, thanks for read this topic. I need some help to set up my midi keyboard with Reaper. I followed all Cockos instructions, went to -preferences -midi devices, and enabled my akai49, enable it for control also. I m not saying about setting up the knobs, didnt even tried that yet. THE PROBLEM IS I CANT MAKE THE NOTES OF MY MIDI CONTROLLER TRIGGER THE NOTES OF THE VST`S. It just doesnt works.

Just for note: If i arm a track for recording and set the input for it to my midi keyboard, when I hit a key on my keyboard, I can see the input level (the red thing) going up and down as I hit the keys, so I belive that the midi keyboard is sending information to Reaper, but that is it, there is no sound, it dont trigger the synths.

i posted a topic on the cockos forum but no one answered yet. Also I coudnt find anything really helpfull about this on google, just more people with the same issues as me.

It has to be a way...           ``We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time.``

Did you solved the issue? if not, check that the R should be red and the MIDI inputs are set to all.

Hi ohshit, Not solved yet.

And yes, the R was red, and the midi was set to all inputs. When I hit a key in my mpk, i can se the red bar level on the track going up, but still it doesnt trigger the synth i dont know why... ohh fucking shit!

thanks for the reply

Ok. You can see the MIDI activity under the track but no sounds are produced. Right?

Try to switch on the "record monitor": is the button with a loudspeaker on the left of the bar that shows the MIDI activity.

Let me know if this help.           http://soundcloud.com/alphadelphi

Can I use this thread to ask questions about Reaper ?
1 - What's the best way to keep a track with frozen Fx that I can unfreeze for later editing ?

2 - How to select some notes only in the midi editor ?

3 - In the FX window how to simply "float" a vst ? ( I mean have several windows with only one vst in a window).

Thank you.

1- just unclick or click the ``ar button`` if I understant you right. You can create your own shortcut for that?
(I m not sure on that one, but either the ``ar`` button or the ``fx`` button i think will do the trick.

2- dont get u?? just click the note you want to create it, and click on it again to dele it?

3-Just click with the mouse twice on the vst name

My keyboard is working better ohshit...
i know you used fl
I just want make it works, in a way, that i can switch between vst and channels and the keyboard switch to it automaticaly, without having to change channels.

Also I found it only works if the ``ar`` button is on??

And if i m working on a track, that i want to hear all the instruments playing at the same time, and just playing one single instrument with the keyboard? What happens with me is when I have all my channels with the ``ar`` button on (with it off, the instruments dont play if i hit play to play the keyboard while the song is playing) the keyboard simply trigger all instruments of all tracks, it s a completly frequency mess

Anyway, i know you used fl before reaper (i think i know, read somewhere here), I just want to make my keyboard works exactly like it used to works on fl, just open one instruments and there you go, just play with the keyboard.
