Hi !
I have had some strange results while using
harbal equalization program to look at my audiofile after it has been eq´d in fruity loops with the parametric eq.
Lets say if i made a boost at 60 hz in fruityloops ,harbal shows a boost at a complete different place in the spectrum range , why is this ? doesn´t fruit´s equalizer show right ? If i want to make a boost at 60 hz, yes then i want to make a boost in this area.
Hope someone could help me....

what eares do you mean? wich frequencies are
being boosted for example whyle your boosting 60 hz?
try to narrow down the q factor and see what it does...

Thanx for you reply
I remember i wrote it down...
Here , i made a peak with the fruity parametric at 69 hz and harbal showed that i had made a boost at 78 hz ..
Sure i will try to make the q factor smaller and see what happens.

it myght be that the instrument you are using, with its current sound does not have these frequenceis, and actualy has a band from around 78hz and up...so whyle you boosted 60 hz, due to the width of the q factor of your eq, it boosted 78 hz...

U can try to use another spectrum analyzer with the fruity eq and maybe habal and another equalizer. Then u will see were are the differences or like orik said the frequencies are missing.

Testing u can maybe with some noisy stuff.            Signature

The cutoff of what? If it is a high pass filter it will cut the bass the more u raise it up. A low pass filter will not affect it until u go very deep, but then all high frequencies are cut.

Which synth are u using now? Maybe u don't need another. Just put a frequency analyser directly as first fx in the mixer on ur bass channel to see if the synth makes any bass. Then use a eq to fit the bass as u need it and check again the freq spec. If u need more sub sometimes it is nice to use bass saturation plugins like the waves rbass or maxxbass. With a little bit of them u can get nice subs and nice bass lines, but they are not always nescary.            Signature

I completely agree with orik on this one.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...
