I'm not sure what genre of music that was supposed to be, but unless you're attempting to make trance or downtempo/chill you're not going to get too many answers here... |

Sorry if that came off harsh, I meant no offense, but rhytmically it sounds more like some kind of electro-beat to me.
If you're just starting out you have a long journey ahead of you. Don't expect to be able to make a nice track very soon.. it takes time, in most cases, years.
I could comment on specifics of the track but its just going to seem negative because everything could be done better and thats totally normal at this stage.
My best recommendation is to just keep going, and listen til your ears bleed to the artists you respect and try to figure out how they create their sound - you will automatically develop your own style anyway, but mastering the techniques and understanding what makes their music so good is step number one. Give it time and don't be in a hurry for results, they come eventually..
Best of luck! |

Not very much to add what Inner said.i just dont think that sounds like trance really, but get used to sound cheap or not like you wanted until you learn! Your first tries are not going to be what you espect, also you have to listen A LOT of music, search sounds, rythms, understand perfectly what kind of music you want to write, the quality of the sound can be improved over time with what you learn.
"and tell me if u guys thing it can reach something.."
It sounds like you are just starting, it takes years to reach that something, like Inner said, remember that always! never quit!

Hey topi... I'm not quite sure that you grasped what me and others tried to say before. Without experience, it doesn't get 'better' in a few hours... sure its a bit different and thats the point, but keep working and in a year or two I promise you it will sound significantly 'better'.
Again, this is not to put you down but you must realize that this is a loooong journey and whats worse - you have to learn to teach yourself the direction! No one else knows where you want to go...
Asking us if it 'got any better' assumes we know what you want to achieve. Instead simply compare it to the stuff you admire and be honest with yourself.
If I had posted every bit of my progression here asking ppl if I'm improving then they'd have nothing else to do.. this track is your first in a line of maybe hundreds before you reach the level you really want... you have to learn how to evaluate your own stuff and that comes with experience. Along with this there's usually a fair bit of disappointment...you may think many times that you're really on to something and then in the end it doesn't cut it. Don't give up though! Patience is key my friend!
To answer your last question, if you like Reason, stick with it.. there's no 'best' platform for psy production. It's all about knowing the tools. I know of several people producing at a 'pro' level using Reason. |

About what you said about Reason, i'll suggest to keep working with it if you feel confortable, but in my experience (i started with Reason 3 too!) over time i felt limited a little bit, because it was harder to achieve the sound i wanted.Reason dont allow you to record audio in real time (only loading samples) and it doestn allow you to load VST/i plug-ins (wich for me its like death itself lol) these last programs opened a really big new WORLD for me in sounds... after swiming in a huge sea of secuencers, i ended up using Ableton Live 6 + a lot of plugins, but just like Inner said, you can have Pro results using reason if you get into it!
oh i almost forgot, you can use something called Rewire, wich allow you to use Reason 'connected' with secuencers (like Live) if you didnt, take a look to this, cheers! |

I understood about the "looong journey" and i am prepared to face it..
thanks again you guys..
Ill keep reading this forum, and listen music all the time!
Another thing I want to know is this: I have decided to learn production, after I started learning mixin'.. I found it more interesting, but do you guys thing I should learn mixin' first.. will it help me?
About reason, what I liked on it, was the easy way to deal with the sequencer, and I think, because of the Matrix Pattern too.. I think the reason limits a lot too, because a lot of very interesting vst like absynth, etc can't be loaded on it.. so what i think is: when i get used to work on the "easy-sequencer" of the reason, i can go changing to a normal sequencer, like cubase or live
inner, do you have any IM? msn or skype? so we can talk more? thankss |

bandarlog, sorry if i expressed me wrong, but what i meant was that i feel limited because i can't use vsti that i know, like absynth etc. not that the program is limited. whats more, Inner and Work4Acid had already told me that i can get real pro results in Reason |
