With all the respect to the tastes of users in this forum I personally think that the UFS complimentions never had more than 2 - 4 good trax out of 9 .... and Ive quite had it with those after 10 listenings, and I wish it was only the UFS complimentions that come out like that, the problem is, its ALL AROUND, when it comes to Electronic / Rock / Pop I've managed to listen to some KICK-ASS complimentions where 13/14 tracks where excellent, 9/10 , high percentages of success, I take the Destination Goa series of complimentions for example, I think this one is one of a very few good complimentions that came out in the past 3 - 4 years.
I am sorry for not using Shahar's nice way of criticizing;
"at 4:30 after some great build-ups, comes a groovy powerful break and then a heart-pounding bassline begins, this is definitly a dancefloor killer" (COME ON, THIS MUSIC IS FOR THE DRUGGED / HAPPY ONES AFTER ALL! you can 4x4 on 140 bpm plain kicks  and get a dance floor moving) I truly think some of them labels should start doing some serious filtering too much shit going around, people I dont know how you can actually appreciate a CD when 50% of the trax are BORING AS HELL and the other 50% are good but they innovate nothing.

I think u have a very good point indeed.
The thing is (IMHO): too much of (almost) everything. Too many labels, too many producers, too many DJs. The only thing missing is $. Not enough 4 to throw around on equipment, on quality mastering, on quality discs.
That's why the thing is like it is. Ppl are putting out records wayyy before they are ready.

The entire scene is very small, we don't have much money, and there are alot of peole who are really deep into it.
also as with everything jews are involved and the you get 2 people 3 opinions about trax.

The second part of UFS was really cool.With tracks from Psysex,Future Prophecy and Infected Mushroom you cant have a bad compilation.
By the way Survival Kit from Psysex still remains one of my all time favorites,extreme sounds and some of the best vocals around.Waiting for UFS 3!

Well I really do agree with you. For example the track.. juan & domi & jorg - spiritual healing rmx
.. that track is nothing else but 4x4 and a stupid melody NOTHING ELSE.. And lot's of people voted it the best rmx ever.. OMG!!

There are several considerations when producing a compilation (not complimentions). One is the producer's own taste, which might not be entirely same as yourself, so some tracks that dont fit his majesty might fit someone else.
Second point is the dance nature of the trance scene. almost every track has to pass the 'dancefloor test', and many (most IMO) ppl look for the same music they hear at parties for their homes too. I admit that I dont personaly fancy this attitude, since it sometimes limits your freedom of choice when compiling (some trax are really interesting but they dont work on the dancefloor, and may create a 'vaccum' in a flowing compilation).

Some compilation are created purely on the dancfloor area, while some are mainly for home listening. trying to create something between is the hardest and trickiest thing, and thats a reason for having a compilation like u described.

bottom line: listen carefuly to the music before you buy it (I hope u do ;)), and try to open your mind to music that might not be your specific cup of tea - you might be suprised.

cheers all
