the best possible solution is a trio
one for ableton and samples also dj when needed/laptop
one for synth works
one for fx and synths/laptop
is the production is rich and some xtra musicians can be added a real bassist player is a real treat

Actually the best possible solution is 4 people, cos then you can add live drums/percussion too... but yeah you just described OOOD pretty much
