first thing trash metal is the best , sepultura arise is the most powerfull album ever made. pantera are good competitor.
in terms of power , it not has to be very technical... like the 'dark' basslines etc. only pure power.
3 power chords got their respected place in music history dont diss the power of simplicity.

second thing i do use alot of death technical style riffs too (listen to my track fuck it from the first album thats the main thought behind it)
the tempo is diffrent and i make it with synth sounds , therefor it sounds and feel very diffrent then death..

and third reflections are awsome i saw them live in the 'leagalize weed' day back in 2004 or 5 in park ha yarkon and it was something like "WOWOWOW"

that song is hell cheesy compare to the stuff they played there

Wasn;t sayingthey were bad haha, actually quite like it! Just would liek to hear some heavier stuff, and some of the atmopsheric stuff like black metal. I enjoy a good dose of thrash and power/true metal check my list inth emusic section haha.           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

how about Deviant Species? I saw him at party in Greece month ago (didn't had any expectations as he's not playing quite often around nor he released a lot of stuff since 2004 album) ...and definitely will seek to hear him again ... great sound quality, great control over the crowd (like catching the listener's attention unnoticably and unconditionally) , very good progression of the whole live, fabulous overal atmosphere - dark in the real meaning of this word when applied for music:] very cohenrent with the project name

highly recommended!!!

ps. sorry for lack of video but I didn't bring photo with me.           lost & profound

So, just an observation. Almost all of these are still just a couple of guys pressing buttons and playing a lead on a synth every now and again. How is this live? Or fun to watch?

I think the bottom line is going to be that psytrance and most electronic music in general isn't conducive to live performance. A real live set of music should recreate every sound made in the track live, which is not gonna be possible for one or two guys.

Which is how Sensient (I think) coined the term "Lively" when he used to dj and add a few live components ins.

I knwo this is what I like to do with my sets with a mate who is good at live improve on his virus TI.

I prefer to mix up a variety of tunes rather than my own stuff all the time, coz there is so much good stuff out there!           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

"lively" is both funny and pretty accurate. I like.

that live as possible for 1 guy , and its awsome and its very REAL live show. like you said its re-create not invent the tune..
if you trigger all loops and mix them and add a lead live and loops filter and effect tweaks , thats electronic live of 1 person.. if you are 2 you can do more and 3 even more..

today electronic live can be done 100% in ableton or other software.. it might look like "pressing some buttons" but its far from it , its operating full virtual audio/midi studio just as if the stage was full of synths and groovebox and making music more complicated then 3-4 people can actualy play live

midi is full electronic live and contain ALOT of possibilites to change and flow with the show..

its not like live bands like metallica come to the show and play chillout cause they can.. they repeat the songs from the cds 1 to 1 usualy.. tewak filters and effects is not any less..

alone you can maybe play more live on 1 instrument , but when it comes to operate full show alone , electronic is the only way to go , and technology alow us even to have 2 minutes brake to drink a beer meenwhile..
also the "crowd attractors show" factor which comes to rediculus extreme on some eskimo video's , tend to excite the crowd too.. and create special connection if you can actualy take your eyes of the screen sometimes too

this might look to you as 'press some buttons' but as musician i met the guy , saw what he does , and its fully respected 1 person live show , completly recreating his music on stage , even if loop by loop and not note by note.. he is still 1 guy and play 7 channels..

actualy he share his live set full ableton file.. download , play with it , and see for your self

triggered loops are not recreated sounds, they are triggered loops. this was my point in saying that it is not live.

Well.. what happens when you stop triggering loops and the music stops... is that not live? Its not live instrumental but it is live music generation...

If I am playing my live set and I stop doing stuff then the music stops. To me that is live.
