So is there a reaktor expert who knows more or less how to proceed ? Is there a usefull tool out there in the user library ? Is it simply worth the hassle ?
i'd definitely like to hear something produced solely with reaktor if anyone has pushed it this far !

I think it isn't worth the hassle. Reaktor is good for doing a lot of things, but it will probably never be as good at sequensing as specialized programs called sequencers. However, you will learn a LOT about Reaktor if you decide to try it.

Here is my 5 cents:

Reaktor is an awesome "instrument" not a sequencer.
It has some sequencing capabilities, but its main purpose to either generate sounds or process them.
So do not compare it to Cubase, Logic, etc.

I also think that the sound quality is better then most VST, AU synth out there. Plus every synth build in Reaktor can me customized it you know how. Things you can do with Reaktor you cannot do with any other VST. The approach of creating your instruments can be mathematical and scientific - like open source projects. So if you are tired of the same sounds over and over like lots of Nord FM synth lines or Albino arpeggiated sounds Reaktor is the answer.

Reaktor or at least its concept is the future. Wait a little and you will see.

Peace...

I think it has a very distinctive high-level sound quality, but is sort of lacks the 'bite' of a Nord and the 'warmth' of a Virus. So i tend to use it for everything except screaming leads and basslines. For the rest it's weird sound heaven.

If you want to add some BITE and a cool filter/distortion, here is a link for a very good filter for Reaktor 5 users.

Let me know if you liked it.
