Hi there i would like to ask a question to the producers here, i have been producing quite a while now and i have good quality music the only thing is that when i listen to the tracks on diffrent speakers the sound varies and i know it's the mix i have to arrange...I would love to know like the right mix ex..bass and kick at 0db then hihats at 2 db and mids a bit higher or something...please i need professional advice if you are not pro do not answer this thread...thank you!

i'm not a pro but i can't tell you there are no right numbers. a strong kick does not require as much volume as a weaker kick, compression also changes the volume you need. you must use your ears and a reference helps a lot

the pro advice you'll probably get is: use good monitors and train your ears to them with good reference material. then mix your track.

good luck!

well its a matter of money,i guess again.
The more expensive the more truth.
U can get nice balance mixing on your monitors.hi fi and headphones at the same time.If mix sounds well on hifi you are close enough

First of all if y are saying that sound Differend in others monitors can be 2 things . 1 - is the normal one , Evry time when y hearing in others systems (Happen to all) Sound abit different , But i think your problam is No2 - If y was work with the right monitors (And flat one) all was sound perfect . Now for the mix .. There is some ppls i know that taking the all project down (By master) and then
Working on with Wavelab/Cool Edit Pro/Sound Forge and more and then make it be highr , I dont like to tuch the master i think its almost a forbidden act . If y hearing some noises after mixing could be some probs not only one . Check the samples in the track (Quality + Gain + Eq) , Check your sound card . I think your unright/work mix prob are coming from your monitors .

And dont forget limit all in the end of the project (L2 , L3 ..)

My probelm is not soundcrad nor monitors because i use Genelec speakers and Motu Soundcard. but thanks for the ideas i think i solved the problem i am hearing the music on some new mackie which makes a big difference, the louder you hear it the better it can be made the mix.

thanks
