I know it is a bugging qeustion but..
Can you tell me What deos it matter if i have RDram or SDram ?!
what difference does it make and which is better?
i know i have 256 MB but i dunno if its RD or SD..
Can i check or something?

SDRAM - The usual type of memory.
RDRAM - The memory that works with Penium 4 processors. Although some new P4 computers can work with SDRAM as well.
On the paper, RDRAM is better - 400FSB (speed of the memory bus or something like that). SDRAM DDR is only 266FSB. But many benchmarks show that SDRAM DDR works better than RDRAM.
How can you know the type of memory you have? If you don't have P4, then it's RDRAM. If you have P4 then check what it says when you turn on your computer. Search for RDRAM or 100/400 written somewhere. If you can't find it then you have SDRAM. |

Yat if you don't know anything about Pc's why you need to know what kind of memory do you have ??
but guys forgot about great AMD that can work with both types of memories
so if you have ADM watch for titles when you opens Pc power. |

guys, sorry to interrupt you all [i don't know which IRQ i took :)]
anyways: RDRAM & SDRAM are both DRAMs, the CPU needs not to support it.
but motherboard needs, so if you have a slow CPU you won't benefit from super-dooper fast RDRAM, cause CPU will be slower than it.
you can have a slow CPU and a fast Motherboard with RDRAM. but this makes no sense.
... i hope this cleared someone something :)

sdram and rdram or ddr is a very different type of memories
they work very very different
sdram works on 133hz(it's kinda of speed)
ddr or rdram works on 266hz(Double Data Rate)
but anyway there is no big difference i got 256 ddr and i dont feel that it works faster than sdram
on a paper it must work faster but it's difficult to see the difference between them

No, DDR is just faster SDRAM.

i meant that the all free are different type of memories
agree with you that ddr and rdram are very different
but anyway they work at the same speed(as checked)
