RCA to 1/4" converters, help/advice needed!

The soundcard that I would really like to get is the RME hammerfall multiface and PCI card. But, as I was said in a previous post, I will need to do something about my RCA situation (i.e. my amplifier only has RCA inputs and the RME card only has 1/4 inch outputs).
Some of you suggested using a converter (a plug or something) that will change the 1/4" plug into an RCA type connection.
My question is, is there any disadvantage of using these types of converting plugs? Does any sound quality get lost and has anyone had any experience with these types of plugs? Can somebody suggest a particular type/brand to look into?
Please let me know if you have had any experience with or know anything about this topic.

well you can just get cables made to your specs...
no need to buy a converter i know at least one company that make prefitted cables of all sorts...
they are called Hosa and make ok quality cables.
they are sold in most music shops or at least something similar you shouldn´t stress out too much over the cables quality though but make sure that it isn´t too long only as much as you need. a rca to jack cable is not the best way to transport signals and the longer the lead the more signal degradation. i make all my cables myself using quality cables and neutrik connectors, this way i can always make the cables that i need and use the materials of my choosing. you don´t have to go that far since almost any prefitted cable will do you just fine.
