Ankit Kochar ‘Ankytrixx’ is an Indian Electronica DJ and producer. Holding on to the No.1 position in India for Electronic Music on the popular MyFavDj Poll for the second year in a row, he has also bagged a 2nd award in 2013, the most prestigious one, for the “Artist/DJ of the Year”. A stalwart in the scene who started DJ’ing more than 12 years ago, his console prowess has travelled far outside Indian shores, with regular appearances at top clubs and festivals around the world. Ankit has truly come to represent the sound of an India hungry for the experience of great quality electronic music.
Currently Ankytrixx is enjoying superstar status as the chosen beat-freak to frequent both, the domestic and the international club scene. 2013 sees him grace top clubs around the country, from swanky and sold-out venues like The Blue Frog, BARDO, ROXY, LAP, Pacha, F Bar, B Bar and, moving away from the big city lights, catering to his new-found massive following of EDM-hungry fans in towns like Jaipur, Indore, Raipur, Navi Mumbai and Kohlapur. His residency at top beach club BARDO in Goa has made Monday’s into the new Friday, with mammoth sessions played out by him each week under his own brand of “Monday Underground”. These parties are stuff of Goa legend, and are now used as a benchmark for all DJ’s or venues aspiring to high quality underground music and sound.
Given his versatility, he is one of the FIRST INDAN DJs to take his brand of foot-stomping music to international clubs in Amsterdam, Ibiza, Berlin, Istanbul, Singapore and Thailand. His most recent appearance in 2012 saw him host and perform at an entire SHOWCASE event with top international acts at the AMSTERDAM DANCE EVENT (ADE) in Amsterdam at Club Home. He also headlined alongside Above and Beyond and many more DJ’s at the STOMP Festival in Sri Lanka in December. Featuring at BLOW in Istanbul, Club Home and Korsakoff in Asmterdam, Bora Bora, and Plastik Club in Ibiza in addition to SO36 in Berlin, in India he has controlled festival dance floors year on year at Sunburn, Sula Fest and Global Underground showcases. With his popularity growing on the international circuit, he has been signed on with agencies Soundvision in Spain, and Ozoloco in the Netherlands! Summer 2013 will see him revisit clubs in Europe, with his debut production album and collaborations with several international artists shall be released in mid-summer ‘13.
The maestro spins his magic overlapping several EDM genres seamlessly, taking you on musical journeys through house, techno and progressive. His sound is chunky and driving, interwoven with dreamy melody, backed by the kind of bass line that instantly grips you! His energetic and emotional shows capture the audience, as his energy flows off the console infecting them with euphoric dance floor power. He has played alongside artist's such as Azax Syndrom, Astrix, Mad Maxx, The Godfather RAJA RAM, Painkiller, Z- machine, Xerox and Illumination and many more.. He has also played in Universal Religion Festival in Nepal.
Currently he has released his first V/A Compilation SHIVA-DELICS on Digital OM Productions with artist's Mad Maxx, Tristan, Avalon, Laughing Buddha, Dickster, Burn in Noise, Outsiders,Ital , Sybarite (Lucas O'Brien and Ric Featherstone) and Mad Monkey.
